Murine in vivo studies including hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. Genetically modified mouse models. Flow cytometry analyses and cell sorting. Cell culture work including transfection and transduction. Molecular biology including PCR, cloning, RNA-seq, etc. Genome editing using CRISPR Cas9.

Primære forskningsområder

;

I am working with a mouse model with fluorescent marker that can be used to subdivide the haematopoietic stem cells into groups of cells that behave differently upon transplantation. Understanding which mechanisms that underlie this phenotypic difference can be a way to increase our understanding of haematopoietic stem cells.

;

I am also studying a small molecular inhibitor, CPI-203, to see how the inhibition of BRD4 and decreased myc expression influences haematopoietic stem cells function.

;

Finally, I have been studying genome editing in murine haematopoietic stem cells with the goal of correcting an inherited point mutation causing a mild haematopoietic phenotype, - without using viral vectors. This was not technically possible at that point.

Aktuel forskning

My current research is focused on understanding the molecular mechanisms of haematopoietic stem cells using an RA-CFP reporter mouse and the small molecular inhibitor CPI-203. The molecular mechanisms that regulate haematopoiesis and hereby also retains a normal pool of haematopoietic stem cells are fundamental for our understanding of normal and malignant haematopoiesis. This knowledge can be useful in developing novel therapies for treatment of diseases of the haematopoietic system such as leukaemia.
