As a medical specialist in clinical genetics with research experience in neurogenetics, I hold a position shared between Department of Clinical Genetics and the Danish Dementia Research Centre, which is comprised of a clinical research group, a proteomics and neurogenetics laboratory as well as the Danish Dementia Biobank.

I am responsible for genetic counseling and genetic testing in families with neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, FTD, ALS, SCA and Huntington’s disease.

Neurodegeneration, Alzheimer’s disease, Frontotemporal dementia (FTD), Huntington’s disease (HD), Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), spinocerebellar ataxia (SCA), genetic counseling.

My current and future research aims at

• further delineating clinical and molecular genetic aspects of inherited neurodegenerative disorders – as well as
• estimating the prevalence of inherited neurodegenerative disorders in Denmark and monitoring the genetic counseling outcome, especially concerning predictive testing in affected families.
