Research Experience:

Immunogenetics mainly in type 1 diabetes, Systemic lupus erythematousus and type 2 diabetes: candidate gene studies (family based and population based). In a type 1 diabetes genetic isolate genome wide linkage studies (GWLS) and genome wide association studies (GWAS).

 

Research Interest:

Immunogenetics mainly in type 1 diabetes, Systemic lupus erythematousus and type 2 diabetes.

Adjuvant immunotherapy in Graves’ hyperthyroidism with the aim of identifying novel biomarkers.

 

Ongoing Research:

GRASS - GRAves Selenium Supplementation trial - An investigator-initiated randomised, blinded, multicentre clinical trial of selenium supplementation versus placebo in patients with Graves’ hyperthyroidism.

Genome wide association studies (GWAS) and fine mapping in a type 1 diabetes genetic isolate from the Faroe Islands
