I am currently working on my PhD project, which is based on a double‑blinded, randomized, placebo‑controlled cross‑over study (CanPan), monitored by the GCP Unit at the University of Copenhagen. In CanPan, we collaborate with Zelo Phase 1 Unit at Bispebjerg Hospital, the Department of Biochemical Science in the North Denmark Region, the Capital Region’s Pharmacy, and the Department of Biochemical Science and the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research at the University of Copenhagen.

I have seven years of experience in clinical research involving both hospitalized and community-dwelling older adults. My scientific work focuses on nutrition and nutritional care for this population, with particular emphasis on the prevention and treatment of malnutrition.

I have previously investigated the association between malnutrition and cognitive function in older adults. I am currently preparing the thesis for my PhD project, which examines appetite and appetite stimulation using cannabis‑based medicine in acutely admitted older medical patients with malnutrition.

For more than seven years, I have worked closely with this patient group through the following completed randomized controlled trials: OptiNAM (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT03741283) and CanPan (ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT05503147). This long-term engagement has fostered a strong and enduring research interest in improving the care and clinical outcomes of older adults at risk of malnutrition.
