Primære forskningsområder

With my background in public health I have an interest in exploring the relationship between social resources, psychological wellbeing, quality of life and biomedical aspects of health. My research at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen focuses on psychosocial aspects of diabetes, particularly 1) the influence of social network and social support on quality of life and glycaemic control and 2) how to integrate psychosocial support into diabetes care.

I have a special interest in type 1 diabetes, but also performs research in the area of type 2 diabetes, e.g. diabetes distress when screened for kidney complications (ongoing study) and peer support in adults with type 2.

I incorporate quantitative and qualitative research methods in explorative research and intervention research.
