Medical doctor, PhD-student
Kristine started waterskiing at the age of 13 and won several medals in the Danish Championships before retiring from competitions, when exams in Medical School interrupted the yearly spring training camps overseas.
The sport – and the injuries that came with it, inspired Kristine to become a Medical Doctor, and her big dream for the future is to become a sports surgeon. In 2014 Kristine spent 3 months at Department of Orthopaedic surgery at Mona Vale Hospital, Sydney, where her interest and love for the surgical ward grew exponentially. From 2015 she engaged in the student-association of Orthopaedic Surgery at her University, and became chairman in 2016.
Kristine completed her medical studies in December 2017 and is now doing her internship at Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Copenhagen University Hospital, Amager-Hvidovre. In collaboration with SORC-C Kristine will from September 2018 be leading a cohort study investigating acromioclavicular dislocations in 100 patients, with the aim to finally make consensus in the treatment of the injury.
