Research areas are focused on cardiac arrhythmias including: ion channel diseases, atrial fibrillation, genetics in

arrhythmia diseases, inflammation in arrhythmia, Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy, ICD treatment.

Author or co-author of more than 270 research papers in peer reviewed journals of which more than 220 are original

scientific publications. In addition, author of 16 book chapters or books.


In my clinical work I primarily take care of patients with cardiac arrhythmia diseases. I have expertise in implantation and control of patients with cardiovascular implantable electronic devices (pacemakers, ICDs and CRTs). I have experience in lead (electrode) extractions (using passive, mechanical and laser tools), radiofrequency catheter ablation and renal denervation for hypertension. I was the first in Northern Europe to perform implantation of leadless pacemakers (Medtronic Micra). Besides the invasive treatment of cardiac arrhythmia patients, I have expertise in their pharmacological antiarrhythmic treatment. Furthermore, I also take part of handling patients with inherited arrhythmic disorders as well as patients with general cardiologic diseases and symptoms.
