I am a psychologist and PhD fellow with a background in trauma-focused treatment and transcultural psychiatry. Since 2015, I have worked with trauma-affected refugees and migrants at the Competence Centre for Transcultural Psychiatry, specializing in the assessment and treatment of posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), nightmares, and sleep disturbances.

My research lies at the intersection of PTSD, sleep and dreaming, and sociocultural context. As a PhD fellow affiliated with the Competence Centre for Transcultural Psychiatry and the Centre for Culture and the Mind, I investigate nightmare-related distress in PTSD using quantitative, qualitative, and review-based methods. I am particularly interested in the psychological mechanisms underlying nightmares, their subjective experience, and the ways in which cultural beliefs and practices shape their expression, interpretation, and treatment across different populations.

My research also examines the clinical utility and cultural adaptation of nightmare-focused interventions, particularly Imagery Rehearsal Therapy (IRT), in diverse trauma-affected populations. My work combines perspectives from clinical psychology, psychiatry, sleep research, and anthropology to advance culturally informed approaches to nightmare assessment and treatment.
