1. Brain MR-assessment of brain aging processes, large-scale cohort and populations studies and international multi-site cohort studies. Analysis of structural, hemodynamic, and functional (cognition and physical) aspects of cerebral white matter changes (incl. small vessel disease) in normal ageing, dementia, depression, and migraine using multimodal neuroimaging techniques. 2. Communication brain research to the general public.
Assessment of inter-individual brain aging processes in large cohort and populations studies. Focus on clinical implications and prevention of small vessel disease as well as developing methods for analysing MR-based biomarkers.
Managing MR-assesment of 1) brain and thighs of intervention study on the effect of physical exercise on a large group of community-based elderly Danes (N=450, yearly follow-up) and 2) life-span cohort study of middle-aged individuals followed since birth (N=300+).
