Primære forskningsområder

Main research areas

A medical researcher with several years of experience in epidemiological research and the use of artificial intelligence in connection with disease characterisation and disease prediction among patients with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Furthermore, several experiences as an investigator on clinical trials.

Currently, the main focus is The PRESAGER project which involves new innovative IT methods to better classify the many aspects (including endoscopy and histology) of Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis by utilising, e.g. artificial intelligence in an interdisciplinary collaboration with the Department of Computer Science at the University of Copenhagen. The results will pave the way for new and better tools to help the clinician choose the proper treatment for patients with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis; and, in the long run, predict the course of the disease in the individual patient.
