- To study the prevalence and pathophysiology of atherosclerotic disease in HIV+ in order to plan how to screen, monitor and treat these patients to minimize future cardiovascular events:
- Comparison of the prevalence of endothelial dysfunction (82Rb-PET myocardial flow reserve) in women and males with HIV infection and no symptoms of CVD.
- To compare subclinical atherosclerotic disease in HIV infected women with and without CMV co-infection.
- Prediction of myocardial infarction in HIV+ adults by endothelial and inflammatory markers in plasma.
