Aims and objectives

Centre for Functional and Diagnostic Imaging and Research (FBE) have a unique multidisciplinary collaboration that ensures interaction across the clinical and scientifical work.

The FBE consists of three sections:

  • Radiological Section
  • Clinical Physiological and Nuclear Medicine Section
  • Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance Section

The first two sections are predominantly clinical, but at the same time have a strong research environment.

 

Focus areas

Radiological Section is involved in several collaborative projects, especially aroung imaging of musculoskeletal disorders.

The Clinical Physiology and Nuclear Medicine Section focuses among other things on pathophysiological aspects in the development of cardiovascular complications for various types of chronic liver disease.

The Danish Research Centre for Magnetic Resonance Section focuses on developing and optimizing MRI techniques for measuring brain structure, metabolism and function with very high precision as well as on non-invasive brain stimulation and on using these advanced techniques for the benefit of the patient and society.

 

Disciplines, methods and tools

The collaboration is across the three sections and with Hvidovre Hospital's other departments, especially the Gastro Unit, Department of Orthopedic Surgery and the Department of Endocrinology and Cardiology.

Furthermore, FBE also takes part in a great deal of cooperation both regionally, nationally and internationally.
