Danish Research Institute for Suicide Prevention

Organisationsprofil

Organisationsprofil

The main objective of the Danish Research Institute for Suicide Prevention (DRISP) is to promote suicide prevention through research, dissemination and implementation. DRISP conducts out evidence-based research, monitors the development of suicide attempts and suicide in Denmark, and develops educational material for suicide prevention. Suicide rarely has one single explanation. Rather, it is a combination of several, different circumstances, which may relate to social, psychological, psychological, physical, or biological factors. Efforts to understand and prevent suicide should therefore seek to address several of these factors. DRISP also works for mobilizing political interest for a national action plan for suicide prevention in Denmark
