Aims and objectives

To promote a scientific, analytic, evidence based and critical approach to clinical practise and conduct of clinical trials.

To collaborate with international and national partners within our specialty and those who may have common areas of interest.

To participate in international working and guideline groups in order to raise awareness about scientific areas of importance, improve educational research and integrate research into clinical work. 

Focus areas

Paediatric anaesthesia; Resuscitation; Obstetric anaesthesia; Evidence based medicine; Pain management; coagulation and transfusion medicine; perioperative management of critically ill patients

Disciplines, methods and tools

  • Involvement in multinational observational and cohort studies within various aspects of our specialty (i.e., respiratory, hemodynamics, coagulation, pain management) with regards to the perioperative management of patients (i.e., neonatal, paediatric, obstetric and general adult population)
  • Active participation in various international guideline working groups
  • Active participation in different international societies ( European Society of Paediatric Anaesthesia; European Society of Anaesthesia; European Resuscitation Council;  Scandinavian Society of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care; Danish Society of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care)
  • Collaboration with various international research and trial groups (European Society of Anaesthesia; Copenhagen trial Unit)
  • Design and conduct of multicenter randomised controlled trials and observational studies.
