I am currently working on my PhD thesis aiming to examine the association between chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and type 2 diabetes in a large nation-wide twin study. The twin design enables the possibility to examine the relative influence of genetic and environmental factors on the risk of COPD and type 2 diabetes. 
Besides my PhD thesis I am involved in research projects on rhinitis (hay fever) and asthma. 

I have had research collaboration with Sandoz and GSK.
